Intellectual Property

At KPM, we value clients' intellectual property. Our philosophy is that we are contracted in part to help improve a client's IP standing. For this reason, intellectual property developed during paid contract work belongs to the client, unless otherwise initially agreed. Often we will help clients to review existing IP and to write and/or edit their patent filings on IP developed for them at KPM.

We also have internal projects and have filed for patent protection on some of this work. This is done to be able to attract partners to the project by providing them with a sense of security. We do not work on internal project topics that overlap with contractual work performed for clients.
